Buy a BMW or MINI feature code (Apple CarPlay, ID6 UI, SSH and more) at your trade price. The code is made in a minute or two, shown here and emailed to you.
How to order a code
- Enter the car's 17-character VIN. Any codes that VIN has had before appear underneath, so check those before you pay.
- Choose the head unit: NBTevo or EnavEvo. Not sure? Run the VIN through the CarPlay checker first.
- For NBTevo, pick BMW or MINI and tick your options. For CarPlay, set the region and drive side to suit the car.
- Check the total at the bottom, then press Pay & generate code and pay on the secure card page.
- You come straight back here. The code appears in a minute or two, and we email you a copy.
- To apply it, plug the ENET cable into the car with the ignition on. Open Feature Installer, press Identify, enter the code and press Continue, then Start. When it finishes, lock the car for 10 minutes, then forget and re-pair the phone.
By purchasing you confirm the VIN is correct. All sales are final.
E-sys TAL Generator
Builds the E-sys TAL for flashing an NBTevo head unit, for example ID4 to ID6 for fullscreen Apple CarPlay, or updating an older NBTevo version. It saves you the ECU / SVT read and the TAL calculation.
How to generate a TAL
- If it says locked, unlock it once for £50. It is yours from then on.
- Enter the car's 17-character VIN.
- Select the NBTevo version the car is on at the moment.
- The generator works out the flash needed. If it says flash not needed, that version is already up to date.
- Press Generate TAL, then download the file.
- In E-sys: connect to the car, load the TAL, read the FA, then start the flash.
E-sys Target Selector Help
Not sure which target (series) to pick when connecting E-sys? Enter the chassis code to see the one to select.
How to find the right target
- Find the car's chassis code, such as F30, F31, G20 or F015. The CarPlay checker shows it from the VIN.
- Type it into the box. The matching target appears as you type.
- In E-sys, press Connect, choose that target, and connect to the car.
- Can't find it? Press Show full mapping table to see every chassis and its target.

Reg lookup
…Turn a UK number plate into the VIN, make, model, year and engine. Then order a code or check CarPlay without going out to the car.
How to look up a reg
- Type the number plate (spaces don't matter) and press Look up reg.
- The VIN and vehicle details appear.
- To use that VIN straight away, press Order a code or Check CarPlay.
Apple CarPlay VIN Checker
Check what a BMW or MINI supports before you quote. See if Apple CarPlay is possible, and whether it is fullscreen or halfscreen. You also find out if the head unit needs flashing or a WiFi antenna first.
How to check a car
- Enter the 17-character VIN. No VIN to hand? Get it from Reg lookup.
- Press Check compatibility to run a live check. It usually takes about a minute when it needs to read the I-level (the head unit software level). The timer shows how long is left.
- Read the result:
Fullscreen compatible: order the CarPlay code.
Halfscreen compatible: works now; a head unit software update gives fullscreen.
ID4 to ID6 flash required: flash it first with the TAL generator, then order the code.
Not available: this head unit cannot run CarPlay. - Check the WiFi antenna line too. If it says one is needed, fit it before activating CarPlay.
